Description
In this class I’ll be teaching you how to use shape layers in After effects to create the illusion of a 3D motion in an animation. To do this I’ll show you step-by-step how I created this faux 3D (aka 2.5D) swerving car using only shape layers in After Effects.
To take this class you’ll need a basic understanding of After Effects but I’ll cover the process slowly and in detail so even if you’re a relative beginner in After Effects it shouldn’t be too difficult to follow along!
Since I’ll be covering a few examples and techniques along the way to this finalized animation by the end of the class you’ll know how to:
- Faking a 3D object using simple 2D shape layers
- Create dynamic smoke
- Add realistic bounces and movement to assets using expressions
- And lots more!
By following along with this class you’ll end up with a looping faux 3D car animation and a great understanding of some useful skills to apply to your next animation project!
Let’s get started!
