  • Description

    Often when drawing gets too tough, we give up and restart, or we never pick up a pencil again! This class is aimed at people who want to start drawing and get results quickly. We will be taking you through a method that is very familiar to artists and we will explain why and how it is effective. We will be showing you the grid method and how we can break down the image into small shapes that come together in an amazing drawing.

    We have broken down the stages so that you can draw along with us and understand where to start and what to do next. Using the grid as our guide, we will show you how you can use this method with any drawing you want to do in the future. This doesn't just apply to the image we have chosen!

    By the end of this class you should feel confident that you can draw anything using our trusted grid and taking it step-by-step.

    What You'll Learn

    In this class you will learn how to draw an image of two flowers that could initially seem complicated, but it is very much achievable no matter what experience you have. You will learn how you can apply this method to any other drawing, it doesn't just have to be botanical! You will also learn several different methods and techniques along the way including:

    * Junctions
    * Negative Space
    * Shading
    * Contrast
    * Line Direction

    By the end of this workshops you will know how to approach any image with confidence and how to make it all the way to the end.

    What You Will Need

    * Pencils - 2H, 2B, 6B (or if you just want to use one pencil then you can still give this a go!)
    * Paper - Any paper will do, we recommend a smooth paper, similar to what you would find in a home printer.
