I have worked in IT in at least some capacity since the age of 16. Prior to going freelance, I served as a network engineer for the United States Department of Defense at Fort Knox, and as CIO for a chain of hospitals and healthcare facilities. I have also worked as a network administrator for some of the largest insurance companies in America. I went freelance in the year 2000, and have become a prolific technology author. I have authored, co-authored, or contributed to over 50 books, and have created over a dozen video training courses. These are in addition to my 7000+ articles and papers. I also routinely speak at various IT related events. In addition to my continued work in IT, I have spent the last several years training as a commercial scientist-astronaut candidate in preparation for a mission to study polar mesospheric clouds.
