Vietnamese language ( tiếng Việt ) is an Austroasiatic language and the national and official language of Vietnam. This language is natively spoken by more than 70 million people, which is many times more than all other members of the Austroasiatic family combined. Vietnamese is the mother tongue of the Vietnamese (Kin) people as well as the second or first language of other ethnic groups in Vietnam. Vietnamese, like many other languages in Southeast Asia and East Asia, is an analytic language with phonetic sound. This language has an entity-verb-object order in the sentence. Vietnamese also uses quantifiers and adjectives. Its vocabulary has received significant influence from Chinese and French.
