Design is all about using creativity to communicate visually. We use colours, typography and imagery to help us express and communicate a message.
In this class you will learn how to express yourself and share a message visually by creating and designing your very own personal manifesto! A manifesto is a declaration of your core values and beliefs, what you stand for, and how you intend to live your life. It could be a statement of principles, a call to action or bringing awareness to a cause you believe in.
By designing your manifesto, you will learn how to gather inspiration, create a mood-board, layout and composition tips, like alignment, proximity and contrast, how to work with colours, what to think when choosing and pairing typography and how to make your designs pop!
Throughout the class, you will learn:
- How to express a message visually
- How to create a manifesto
- How to research and collect visual inspiration

- How to pair fonts
- How to sketch your ideas
- How to bring your ideas to life
Everyone is welcome! This class is for you if you are interested in graphic design, self-exploration and personal growth. No prior experience is required. I will talk you through the graphic design basic rules to help you design like a pro and bring your ideas to life! To follow along, you will need a computer to research and look for inspiration and have access to Adobe Illustrator(but can also be replaced by your favourite graphic software).
The skills learned in this class can be applied into any other graphic design project you decide to create in the future.
By the end of this class, you’ll have a beautifully designed manifesto that represents yourself, your values and beliefs.

Instructor's CoursesHello! I'm Agatha Vieira and I'm a graphic designer, illustrator, behavioural mentor and educator at Skillshare.
I have over 10 years of experience working as an in-house designer for corporate companies in Brazil and England. My work is quite diverse... it's a blend of branding, print, templates, and illustration.
I'm originally from Rio de Janeiro, where I completed my undergraduate and postgraduate studies. In 2015, I traveled to London to study English and graphic design at Central Saint Martins, and it was such an enriching experience for me that I ended up staying in England till today!
My journey with Skillshare began a few years ago as a student. I watched classes to keep updated and mostly to use my creativity in a light-hearted manner, simply for the joy of creating. Years later, in 2020, I created my first class! Currently, I have 4 classes on the platform, and to my surprise and joy, combining all 4 classes, I've already taught over 10,000 students from various parts of the world!
During this period of teaching online, I've learned a lot, and the best part was that I found a purpose, which is to teach beginners to discover their creative potential and overcome the fear of starting with new software like Photoshop or Procreate, for example.
