    • Sam Haddix introduces the class and discusses what will be covered in the lessons that follow.
    • Sam goes through the gear he’ll be using for this class.
    • One approach to a scene is to figure out what you don’t like and focus on what you do like.
    • The first shoot of the class takes place on a balcony as Sam goes through his process for choosing the location, setting up the shot, and discussing the gear and settings he uses.
    • With the lights of a theater as the background, Sam goes through his process for shooting with a continuous light source.
    • Standing on a street corner with the lights of the city and a continuous light source, Sam sets up a quick portrait shoot.
    • Using a constant light source gives you the benefit of seeing exactly how the light will fall on your subject.
    • Combining some gels with his light source, Sam goes through his set up for a colorful portrait of our favorite dog photographer, Kaylee Greer.
    • Learn Sam’s process for whittling down the shoot to just his selects.
    • Using his favorite photo of Doug, Sam shares some of his Photoshop workflow for editing a portrait.
    • Using a photo of Matt, Sam shares new techniques for editing a portrait in Photoshop.

    Sam is a portrait photographer based out of Boston Massachusetts. In addition to photographing people, Sam is known for his dog-wrangling and lighting skills as one half of Dog Breath Photography—a popular dog photography duo featured on the Nat Geo Wild television show “Pupparazzi”. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Sam is a talented musician, a passionate teacher, and lover of pro wrestling.
