Kirk Marshall is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) that specializes in securing high-security environments such as finance and banking. Mr. Marshall has been working with computers since the early '80s when he began programming in Basic on the original IBM PC. His career has provided him with opportunities to become an expert in Unix through the direct administration of computer systems and by teaching classes in TCP/IP networking, UNIX performance tuning and AIX system administration. His early experience was with IBM AIX however he's also dabbled with HPUX, Sun Solaris and for the last decade Linux. He has managed individual systems as well as highly-available clusters of firewalls, network intrusion detection systems, web servers and database servers. Mr. Marshall has held positions of Unix Team Lead, IT Director, Independent Consultant and Information Security Officer. He is equally comfortable whether coding new security tools or presenting high-level summaries to a senior management team. He has worked on projects as diverse as writing a dynamic network switching daemon to facilitated risk analysis and from disaster recovery planning to network penetration testing.
