Charli is a Marketing and Communications Professional, Trainer and Instructional Designer. She received training from the Association for Talent Development (ATD) in the areas of learning and development, training design and delivery, measurement and evaluation, and talent management. A graduate of Old Dominion University, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications, and she earned her Accreditation in Public Relations (APR) through the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA). She has spent the last decade mentoring employees and spearheading communications efforts for global brands, like the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company, Barefoot Wines, and Air New Zealand.Charli started her agency career as an Account Coordinator where she moved through the ranks, training junior employees and leading the internship program for the office. Most recently, she served as the Director of Public Relations for the Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau where she was tasked with building from the ground up an “in-house agency,” while simultaneously developing her direct reports. Having worked at Dale Carnegie Training, which instilled in her the value and importance of continued professional development—and serving in her subsequent roles—Charli knows that employees are not provided sufficient training and onboarding, and therefore, are not set up for success from the onset. That’s why she created Sharp Learning, a first-of-its-kind training and onboarding solution for the marketing and communications industry, which leverages her agency and client-side experience and passion for mentoring others.
