Description
Welcome to Procreate Large Floral Wall Art for POD Sales! Special thanks to many of you who have been attending my other Procreate Brush Classes, Watercolour Floral Abstracts with Procreate, Simple Brushes in Procreate for Quick Compositions, and Fantasy Gardens in Procreate. If that includes you, I know you’ve learned plenty about custom Procreate brushes, but you know I always have more to share with you! And this class takes it one step further by helping you prepare the art and then post it on a POD site like Society6.
I will take you along through my process to teach you some of my illustration and wall art design methodology, and ways to use brushes to create a series for sale on POD sites, or possibly for art licensing, which is what I use it for. In the class, I take you from start to finish in creating a full-sized art piece, using line art flower brushes I have created, as well as a realistic watercolour background. Throughout the class, I talk about inspiration and trying to find your unique niche in the “bold floral art” category. And, I have techniques and advice to save the art in many iterations as needed for the different proportions on POD sites. I use this method to be sure we put our best foot forward with the art, so it is very important that you’ll be creating completely editable and layered art.
In this class I’ll walk you through:
- my step-by-step methodical composition strategies for making wall art in Procreate
- tips for creating layouts for a varied and appealing collection
- my workflow for use of layers and other great features like alpha lock and masks
- adjusting elements to perfect the flow and adding elements in the second iteration of the design
- watercolour background creation with other details
- methods for keeping the art fully editable for later adjustments and recoloring
If you’re an aspiring pattern designer with a good basic knowledge of Procreate, you’ll be able to go through all the steps. This class will benefit anyone who wishes to simplify creation of artistic layouts and methods to improve efficiency.
The key concepts I will include:
- review of my brush alterations and adjustments
- layout and design considerations for wall art
- alpha lock and masks
- a look at Procreate brushes and their various idiosyncrasies
- approaches you can take in your creative work
This is an ideal class for you, even if you are not sure about POD sales, or whether it is for retail direct sales, or even for personal use. Learning new Procreate workflows is always desirable. I guarantee you will come out of this class with something really appealing, and the techniques are valuable no matter what you are creating.

Instructor's Courses
Hello, I'm Delores. I'm excited to be here, teaching what I love! I was an art educator for 30 years, teaching graphic design, fine art, theatrical design and video production. My education took place at college and university, in Manitoba, Canada, and has been honed through decades of graphic design experience and my work as a professional artist, which I have done for over 40 years (eeek!). In the last 15 years I have been involved in art licensing with contracts from Russ, Artwall, Studio El, Patton, Trends, Metaverse, Evergreen and more.
My work ranges through acrylic paint, ink, marker, collage, pastels, pencil crayon, watercolour, and digital illustration and provides many ready paths of self-expression. Once complete, I use this art for pattern design, greeting cards, wall art and many other pieces I sell through art licensing and on products I create for my store, shop.deloresartcanada.ca. I also sell Artist's Resources there and have some free products for you, so check it out and add your name to my mailing list!
The bottom line? I love to experiment and mix both natural and digital mediums to create everything from very commercial work to very non-commercial fine art abstract paintings (and yes, I do sell these, so I guess they are commercial after all). I am here to share that knowledge with all of you in the Skillshare universe, as this has been one of my favourite haunts! I feel privileged and excited to become an online teacher here amongst some real stars in the art world! Please join me in my classes and follow me. I am sure we will have tons of great adventures together (oh my, so cliché)! Anyhow, here we go...
