Mindfulness or mindful attention is the quality of being present in the present moment and being fully engaged (away from distraction and judgment) in what we are doing in the moment and also being aware of our thoughts and feelings without being overwhelmed by them. In simpler terms, meditation is a way to train the mind. Most of the time, our mind wanders; It means we are thinking about the future; We live in the past; We are worried; we dream; We get distracted or daydream. Meditation brings us back to the present moment and provides us with the necessary tools to reduce tension and anxiety, as well as to be more relaxed and kind to ourselves and others.
