The Floral Extravaganza continues!

Have you ever wondered what that strange liquid called masking fluid is all about? Look no further, in this class I will be showing you step-by-step how to use it together with watercolor to paint magical loose florals.

With masking fluid you basically block out areas on the paper that then will not be painted with watercolor and stay white. You can also use two or three layers of masking fluid in turn with watercolor layers to achieve even more depth and magical effects. I will be guiding you through the whole painting process in this class.

I will go over the art supplies you need for this class and also something I like to call the 'secret ingredient' you have in every kitchen that helps you giving the masking fluid a better painting consistency and will prevent the masking fluid from ruining your brushes.

I am so happy you are here! Do you love painting florals as much as I do and would you like to learn some tips, tricks and new techniques for painting loose and vibrant watercolor florals?

My name is Cathrin Gressieker (even though Skillshare captions try to convince me that I am Catherine Brassica...) and I am a floral artist, daily painter and textile designer living in Northern Germany, but I am most happy in places with palm trees. Painting loose florals is my neverending passion and I love doing it every day for fun and for a living. My designs have been licensed on products all over the world, from washi tape to high fashion - and while that's super-great, nothing compares to the beauty of the painting process itself for me.

l especially love painting in the early morning, coffee by my side, my family (two girls and hubby) still asleep and dreaming - magic moments! I am also a yoga teacher and I have found out that this is my perfect kind of meditation and way of honoring the creative divine. Flowers and painting them is one mysterious beautiful language.

I will show you the painting part and my process in Photoshop (more classes to come!) of how to turn your florals into patterns for selling and licensing, with all my experience of working 7 years in the textile design industry as a successful freelancing artist.
