    Description

Are you not sure if programming, web development or javascript is for you? Give this course a try to dip your feet into some code. This could be your first step toward kickstarting a future career in software development/engineering.

While the lessons in this course focus on web development (javascript, html and css), many of the concepts covered are highly relevant in learning and using other languages like python, java or c++ and many others!

Learn the basics of how to build effective web pages and applications. The topics covered in this course could otherwise take years of expensive and redundant courses in a college setting to uncover.

Don't waste years and thousands of dollars on a computer science education that might not even be for you, without trying the content in this course first.

With HTML you will learn about the structure of web pages. CSS covers the styling aspects that make creating a consistent, sexy and professional look on web pages very easy once you get the few fundamentals down first.

Most importantly though, in this course, you will uncover the core concepts of javascript which works together with HTML and CSS and introduces a variety of core concepts that are central to building web applications, and other applications in other languages. If you stick with programming long enough, you will discover that most languages are able to accomplish the same things, in similar and straightforward ways; using the same underlying concepts to accomplish whatever function you are looking to create.

This course will give a great introduction to these core concepts in javascript and programming in general with manageable vocabulary and pace. You won't learn everything you need, but you will learn a great deal, and you will discover if an education and career in computer science is for you!

If you have questions about any of the concepts covered, you can reach out to me directly and I will give my best advice in a timely manner. There are no bad questions when you are really struggling and trying to understand something, even when it might seem trivial, or the question is poorly worded.

Thank you for your interest, I hope that you give programming and web development a try. It could change your life, as it has mine, having just landed my first programming job out of college with a degree in computer science.
