Who is this for?
What You Need to Know?
More details
DescriptionThis course mainly discuss about computational fluid dynamic using smoothed-particles hydrodynamic (SPH) method. Theory behind the method will be briefly touched to make the learner understand why certain simulation parameters were chosen. Upon the completion of this course, the learner is expected to be able to download and install all of the free-to-use software, make the model and choose correct simulation parameters, visualize the simulated flow, and animate the flow using Blender. SPH is a Lagrangian mesh-free CFD tools that gain popularity recently, either in the academic community or in the creative industry due to it's ability to simulate complex fluid movement. In general, in Lagrangian (meshless) approach, the fluids are simulated as particles and the flow motions are described as particles trajectory. Because particles are not confined within a volume mesh, Lagrangian approach is more suitable for simulation where there is a high level of flow deformation, such as breaking wave. This method, furthermore, can be combined with visual animation software called Blender to create a more realistic view of wave-structure interaction.
In this course you will be able to:
1. edit the geometry model of your simulation
2. set up the correct simulation parameters value
3. run an SPHÂ simulation
4. View the velocity flow field using Paraview
5. render a more realistic view of the wave-structure interaction using blender
Who is the target of this course?
Engineering students, engineer, animator, design student, or anyone with interest of fluid research and animation.
There is no knowledge in fluid dynamics needed for this course
Who this course is for:
- Engineering, Designer, Animator, Hobbyist
- Anyone with computer and some free time
