    The idea of the Internet of Things (IoT) has been around for several years now. But still industry - incumbents and startup - searches for applications and appropriate business models.

    This course introduces the most important concepts of the internet of things and various mechanisms that make IoT useful. The IoT value stack is introduced, too, as well as a short introduction to business model innovation.

    This is the basis for more advanced lections on the impact of IoT on business models and on IoT business opportunities and revenue models.

    Instructor's Courses
    Markus is a Professor for Internet of Things (IoT) and Blockchain Technology at Aalen University for Applied Science in Germany. There he helps establishing one of Europe´s first curricula specifically dedicated to IoT. From 2012 to 2016 Markus was the Director of the Bosch IoT Lab at the University of St. Gallen and ETH Zürich. At the Bosch Lab he and his team researched IoT applications in the domains of Smart Home and Connected Mobility as well as IoT Business Models and the role of Blockchain Technology in IoT. Markus joined Bosch in 1998. He studied Mechanical Engineering in Munich and Trondheim, Norway, and holds a PhD from Technical University of Munich.
    Students take courses primarily to improve job-related skills.Some courses generate credit toward technical certification. Udemy has made a special effort to attract corporate trainers seeking to create coursework for employees of their company.
