Peter Maina

Mr. Peter Maina is a GIS and Remote Sensing Scientist working with Wildlife Research and Training Institute, Department of Species and Habitats Research. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Wildlife Management and an Msc in GIS and Remote Sensing. He has over 13 years’ experience in Conservation of Natural Resources applying geospatial technologies in enhancing sustainable management of Kenya’s habitats and wildlife. He has worked with Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) for 11 years as a GIS Analyst/ Modeller. He has been involved in several trainings of fellow Scientists and Protected Area Managers in applications of geospatial tools in ecological monitoring and understanding various habitat dynamics.
