I am a professional English language instructor & coach, a video content creator, and live show host, working from Vancouver, Canada. I've been teaching English for over 10 years, specializing in helping students develop and improve their ability to write with purpose and power to achieve the test scores, essay grades, and both academic and career success they dream of.I studied at both the University of British Columbia (UBC), and Ritsumeikan University Graduate School of Language Education and Information Science in Kyoto, Japan.My education media company, Hard-Boiled English Media, produces educational videos such as my web series ENGLISH WEIRDNESS, as well as my weekly live streaming show, HARD-BOILED ENGLISH-LIVE. These productions allow me to reach learners and friends around the world and share my love of solving English mysteries.I also instruct at institutions such as the new Juilliard School of Music in Tianjin, China, and the innovative English-language program at Sakata Minami High School in Yamagata, Japan. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy dining, reading, writing fiction and non-fiction,  exercise, and traveling.
