I am a Geospatial Data Scientist with over 18 years of experience in the geospatial industry. I have a BSc. in Geography as well an MSc. in Geographic Information Science.My professional experience ranges from GIS for Counter-Narcotic Monitoring to GIS for Emergency Response & Preparedness, and everything in between! I also have an expensive background in teaching in both academic and professional environments.I created this course because I understand how overwhelming it can feel to get started using GIS. This course aims to cut through all the noise and present you with the essential skills you need to ease your way in.At the end of this course, you will go from not knowing what GIS is, to being able to have a high level discussion about its component parts, as well as gain practical experience interacting with a professional GIS software.
