About Instructor

Morné is the Author of this manual and the founder of Incense Films, Davinci International Film Academy, and The Pumpkin Theatre, where his passion for all things filmmaking is evident.In 2006, Morne launched Incense Films, initially focusing on small productions as he learned the industry's intricacies. He started his career as a cameraman on his first feature film, "Play it as it Lies," and went on to produce his first film, "Hartsbegeertes," in 2012. Since then, he has produced 10 feature films, directed 2 feature films, and created numerous short films. During this period, Morné also honed his scriptwriting skills, penning two films, "Rowwe Diamante" and "Kampterrein."In 2016, he established the Davinci Film Academy to teach high school students the art of filmmaking. Driven by his passion, Morné furthered his expertise by achieving lectureship certification from Blackmagic Design in Paris. He is one of only four lecturers in Africa qualified to teach DaVinci Resolve, a leading video editing suite. He has received accreditation for the Davinci Film Academy from Blackmagic Design's training center in France.During the early days of the COVID-19 lockdown, Morné and Mandy Rootman co-founded a broadcast/news media house called "The Vuvuzela." This feel-good online channel has conducted over 150 interviews with small community businesses and projects, providing much-needed exposure during challenging times.Morné's years of experience make him the perfect leader to guide the Davinci International Film Academy into the future. Together with a dynamic, motivated team, they are focusedon revolutionizing content creation, from films to socialmedia and corporate videos.
