About Instructor
Hello, I’m Mazy and here’s a little about me and my journey with User Experience Design.I’m a former University lecturer and have been a UX Professional since 2006. I’m currently working as a UX Consultant, Trainer & Teacher. In my teaching career, I lectured in UX for 6 years on the Masters for Interactive Media, at the University of the Arts London, where I taught students from around the globe and mentored several students in their first roles in the industry. In my Professional practice I’ve worked as a UX Designer, User Researcher and UX Manager for some of the UK’s biggest media brands, most recently as Head of UX at a large media company in London.I now run my own business Evolve UX - providing UX Training and Consultancy services and have provided training for a range of clients, from Global banks, to bespoke Marketing agencies. I’ve delivered UX Consultancy for clients globally, providing everything from UX Workshops, in-depth User Research, Expert Evaluations and UX Design services. I also continue to teach on University courses.I started out in the early 00’s as a web designer by day and call-centre worker at night. I wanted to progress in my career in digital design, so I applied for a place on a Masters degree, which I was accepted onto on the basis of my portfolio as a self taught web designer. It was there I was introduced to Usability and User Centred Design - and seeing how users interacted with my designs for the first time, was a revelation. I knew from then onwards, users would always be central to my design process.I was lucky to go to college before the costs became so prohibitive (the loan was still a lot for me then, but it would’ve been completely out of reach at today’s rates). But I don’t think you need a Masters degree to get into this industry - just a determination to learn and the right resources to guide you. This is why I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge with everyone in an affordable and accessible way, and I’m here to help guide my students from all cultures and backgrounds to help them achieve their learning and career goals.
