Matthew Blackwood

I have a Masters and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of  Alabama and am a registered Professional Engineer.  In my professional career I started out doing structural dynamics at NASA on the (now canceled) Ares I.  I then did a short stint performing data analysis on Blackhawk helicopters before working 4 years at a small accident reconstruction firm.  In 2015 I started Scanning Cars LLC which does a lot of work in the accident reconstruction field focusing on processing 3d Scan data.  I use many programs including custom scripts written in python to process the data.  The programs I use the most are Blender, Rhino 3D, Meshlab, and Faro Scene.  I am a 3d printing enthusiast currently developing techniques for 3d printing model cars.  My hobbies include my job :), running, biking and spending time with my family.
