  • Lots of exploration
  • Self-critique (check out my self-critique class if you need to brush up on those skills)

Mary Kate McDevitt is a Philadelphia-based illustrator and lettering artist. Since 2010 she has created hand lettering for clients including, Target, Chronicle Books, Smuckers', Macy's, and author to her books Hand-Lettering Ledger and Illustration Workshop. Between client work and personal projects Mary Kate teaches at her alma mater, Tyler School of Art, and co-founded Okay Fine, a shared studio that hosts workshops and events. On the weekend you'll find Mary Kate exploring the historical streets of Philadelphia, thrifting, and hanging with her cat Peppy Mew Mew and her old dog Fritz.
