George Hlavacs

George Hlavacs is a designer living and working in Rotterdam. He is also a lecturer of design at University Rotterdam, which is one of the most successful faculties of its kind in the Netherlands.George is fascinated by the working of the human mind. While lecturing cognitive ergonomics, he made a research on how the human brain reacts to the visual information from handmade sketches. He also examined which practicing methods result in the most efficient and joyful learning process. This research led to many new insights, which he described in his book The Exceptionally Simple theory of Sketching. His uniqe approach to the development of sketching skills are acknowledged and applied by many design professionals and educators worldwide.
