About Instructor
For 25 years I have been helping people in Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) improve themselves as well as their companies and organizations by educating them about new technologies and new ways of working. This includes 15 years in industry as a surveyor, designer, design team manager, and BIM manager. I joined Autodesk in September of 2013 as an enterprise support specialist and since then have served as a civil community evangelist and now a solutions advisor covering architecture, engineering, and construction. I am the author of two globally distributed "Essentials" book series published by Wiley/Sybex: AutoCAD Civil 3D Essentials (2012-2015) and Autodesk InfraWorks and InfraWorks 360 Essentials. I have also authored several courses for Lynda.com/LinkedIn Learning on InfraWorks, Civil 3D, and coming soon...BIM 360.
Prior to working directly for Autodesk I worked with them as a consultant many times, most of which have involved writing, editing, and delivering training/tutorial materials internally for Autodesk and also for Autodesk partners. I've also been a presenter at Autodesk University for over 15 years.
Because of my deep understanding of many Autodesk technologies and many years in AEC, I can pair my technical knowledge and experience to provide insight that helps people, organizations, and companies do more, do it better, and do it in less time and with less impact to the environment.
Autodesk is a company that leads many industries in the creation of software tools for people who make things. Whether it's a sports car, a superhero movie, a prosthetic, an iconic building, or just about anything, chances are good that Autodesk technology was used by those who made it.
When I'm not talking to people about AEC technology I'm spending time with my wife and four children, playing music, or enjoying the outdoors.
