About Instructor

Dr. Dorothy Marcic has been a professor of management for over 25 years. While currently teaching at Columbia University, she was previously at Vanderbilt University, the University of Wisconsin, and Arizona State University. She was a Fulbright Scholar, teaching MBA students and undergraduate business students at the University of Economics-Prague, in the Czech Republic. She has a doctorate and three masters degrees.She is the author of 18 books, including Understanding Management, one of the top-selling Principles of Management textbooks in the world. In addition, her Managing with the Wisdom of Love was selected as one of the top-10 management books of the year. She has won awards for her teaching and her community service.During her career, she has given over 2000 highly-rated keynote speeches and workshops and has consulted with organizations such as Goldman-Sachs, Ford Motor Company, American Express, AT&T, GiroCredit Prague, Swedish Institute of Management, Czech Finance Ministry, Bulgarian Management Center, Chinese Women Entrepreneurs Program, Coca-Cola, FeroxCzech, Cowan University Australia, Helsinki School of Management, Hewlett Packard, Oracle,  Piper Law, Hallmark, State Farm Insurance, Viacom, Embassy staffs in Guatemala and the Czech Republic, Slovenian Management Center, American Medical Association, Ford Motor Company, Eurotel, Unilever, Good Samaritan Hospital System, and many more.Expanding her writing career, Dr. Marcic has several produced plays and two hit musicals. She writes for American Theatre Magazine and got her start in entertainment as a production assistant on Mister Rogers' Neighborhood on PBS. She has appeared on C-SPAN, CMT, and Bravo Network and is on IMDB and BroadwayWorlddotCom. Her #1 on Apple podcast, ManSlaughter, is about the murder of her uncle.
