About Instructor

I am a self-taught photographer who gained an understanding of composition from my father and learned darkroom fundamentals at a community college when I was 12. Since then, it’s been a journey of discovery and evolution. My photography today is conceptual: I re-contextualize everyday objects raising questions on contemporary issues including politics, place, and aging. I’m not constrained by certain themes; rather I continually try new subjects as I find them or borrow them, changing techniques and cameras as the situation dictates.I continually look for new ways to approach life as art and help others look at life and their work differently. Beyond the camera, I am seen as a “creative catalyst” who helps bring out the creativity in others through speaking and workshops.
