David McKane

Your photography tutor, David McKane, is a fine art photographer with over 40 years of experience in photography and teaching. He has owned and used over 30 cameras, covering all major brands, and is well-versed in almost every camera available today.David began teaching photography in 1985 and has since taught over 20,000 students, serving as the lead trainer for both Canon and Nikon. He has vast experience using photography as a creative, expressive medium and has held multiple exhibitions, mainly in the United States.After graduating with honors from a three-year photography course in 1985, David received his first film SLR in 1982 and has owned many darkrooms. He was an early adopter of a scanner (1989), Photoshop (1992), his first digital camera (2002), and Lightroom (2007).David's favorite saying is, “It depends...” He believes that there is no single answer to any question in photography. When asked about the best lens, flash, camera, or tripod, he always responds, “It depends."As a famous photographer once said, the best camera for any situation is the one you have with you. David’s only goal is to help you get the best out of the gear you already have.
