About Instructor

I am a high-energy, passionate and motivating leadership developer and coach who believes that when people understand their strengths and show up with their authentic selves, they find their power. While working with my clients, one of my focuses is on making sure my clients see the potential in themselves that we so often struggle to see. This is especially true in the leadership space, where it becomes so much more obvious where our professional challenges are hiding. Many of these challenges are things we can avoid while in individual contributor roles, but that become very apparent when we start taking on the responsibilities of leading others. I am a licensed CPA with over 20 years of coaching and training/facilitation in various settings - from coaching sports teams through coaching corporate teams and individuals to lead them to success. As a leader, I believe in leading from a place of appreciation and respect of individuality. My guiding principles when working with my clients (in coaching and professional development) are: 1) You cannot, and should not, be everything. 2) Nothing is wrong with you - you are NOT broken. Embracing and accepting yourself are the first steps to building confidence. 3) Everyone has fear. Courage is moving forward in spite of that fear. 4) You cannot be your best without feedback/input from others. Other people see what we cannot see about ourselves - we have one perspective, and that perspective can only get us so far (and is frequently off-base). 5) The easiest and quickest path to self-doubt and self-defeat is comparison to others. 6) The only person who should be setting expectations for you is YOU. 7) You cannot give 100% if you don't have 100% to give. We cannot have 100% without taking care of ourselves. It is absolutely okay (and essential!) to make yourself a priority. 8) The world truly is your oyster - SHUCK IT! No one else is going to do it for you. 9) Communication is the key to improving pretty much everything. 10) If different people keep telling you the same thing, it is time to start listening. How can you take that information and use it to grow/develop?
