BACKGROUND
I'm a West Coaster to the core, raised in rural Eastern Washington but Portland is home. I left my heart in San Francisco (more specifically, Oakland) and I'm currently soaking up the sunny Central California coastline of Santa Barbara. With stunning landscapes, diverse climates, creative and unique folks and a laid back approach, the left coast is a melting pot of constant inspiration and comfort for me.
CAREER
My professional career has spanned the disciplines of interior design, production design and graphic design but I’ve found that I am most passionate about photography, especially within the culinary arts. I started getting more serious about baking 8-ish years ago, after years of being chained to laptop for hours on end. I began to break up all of that screen time by getting my hands dirty in the kitchen and exploring the world of baked goods. Over the years, that hobby has become a passion of mine that led me to eventually create my recipe blog, bakingthegoods.com.
My vision with Baking The Goods is simple; provide a space that features approachable recipes for the home baker, through step-by-step instructions from a do-it-yourselfer. As a (mostly) self-taught baker, I know how overwhelming baking can be to the beginner. I do my best to break down the recipes into visually informative little morsels packed full of tips and tricks.
APPROACH
I am a big proponent of keeping it real. Life is meant to be lived in and things occasionally get messy. I prefer to embrace the realness and let the natural wear and tear of life shine through in my work. I do my best to communicate an all natural aesthetic throughout my photography and design work.
