About Instructor

Let me tell you a bit about myself...

I’m an international selling artist specializing in painting pet portraits and wildlife. I live, paint, teach,
and walk my lovely Spaniels in the beautiful South Downs National Park, England.

Over the last twenty years, I’ve taught myself the watercolour techniques you see today. Not having been to art school, finding my own way has been fun and sometimes daunting but has allowed me to develop my own unique style.

This year I’ve been lucky enough to be selected as a finalist for the prestigious David Shepard Wildlife Artist of the Year, with the above painting of a pair of African-painted dogs.

In 2014 I began teaching my free-flow methods to small groups of beginner artists. After a recent move, I was fortunate enough to have the use of a beautiful light-filled studio to teach from. This wonderfully converted dairy and my popular relaxed style of teaching has proved a very exciting new chapter in my life.

The pleasure of helping people unlock their painting potential, and seeing their faces light up when they discover they can paint has been a magical experience for me.

My style is quite unique as I don’t paint using brush strokes, it’s all done by placing watercolour paint onto wet paper. This is very liberating and extremely fun, allowing the paint and paper to create magic!

So whether you're a seasoned artist or just discovering watercolour for the first time. I know you'll have many aha moments when we get painting together, and a lot of fun!

So come and join me... and don't forget to subscribe, so you'll be notified when my next class is available! My aim is to release one every 4 to 8 weeks throughout 2023.
