Description
This is the second class in our Travel Sketchbook at Home series. You will learn how your photos can be used as tools for better sketching AND as effective graphics on your sketchbook page right along side your sketches. Our illustrated sketchbooks tell the stories our lives, and now more than ever, we are taking photos as an important part of that story.
We take most of our photos with mobile devices and the stumbling block to getting them on paper has been the difficulty of sizing them and printing them from our devices. In this class, we will solve those problems and then teach you many ways to incorporate your prints of any size, into your sketchbook pages with your drawings and paintings.

Instructor's CoursesMy name is Jessica Wesolek and I am an artist, teacher, sketchbooker, fine art photographer, and retired gallery owner living in the fabulous art town of Santa Fe, New Mexico.
My classes are about the art of sketchbooking, watercolor painting and drawing - in real life and digitally. They are for all levels because beginners will be able to do the projects with ease, and accomplished artists will learn new ideas and some very advanced tips and techniques with water media.
I teach complex ideas in a simple way that makes sense, and is easy to understand.
My career in the arts has been long, varied, and eventful. My educational credentials are from the University of Michigan, UC Berkeley and Parsons School of Design. When I got out of school, I promised myself that I would never get a "day job" and would earn my living only through art. I have kept that promise and have the scars and stars to prove it.
I love teaching people to make art.
I also love to learn and have been a student on Skillshare for a few years. Because I enjoyed it so much, I decided to teach on the platform myself.
My classes can be enjoyed in any order - each is complete within itself - but together, they make a large learning lab of skills, techniques, demos, studio tips, and step-by-step instructions that provide ideas for what to do, as well as the tools to do it.
You can find lots of my illustration and sketchbook art on my Instagram page.
One of my main activities outside of Skillshare is a creative lifestyle magazine called Captured Moments that I publish in my Substack newsletter in weekly posts. The subscription is free and you can subscribe here - Subscribe
I encourage all students to post their Projects so we can communicate about them.
Most of all, I hope that making art brings you unbounded joy.
