    Description

The Fundamentals of IT Project Management course is a comprehensive course that contains over 6 hours of content and additional resources to introduce the student to the field of Project Management.  This course differs from the "How to Manage a Large IT Project" course in that this course provides information about the Project Management profession ideal for college students or experienced professionals looking to transition into the Project Management profession.

Gain knowledge on what Project Management is - and understand why Project Managers are accountable for projects.

Understand the entire lifecycle of a project - from Initiation through Closing, there are many areas that the Project Manager must oversee to ensure the success of the project.

Learn how to deal with obstacles that arise on projects as we work through tools that can help the Project Manager overcome these obstacles.  These tools include delegation of work, leveraging a risk register, managing the business when they want to alter the scope, underperforming software vendors, and so much more.

Understand how to build out a project schedule and proactively manage it.  The work doesn't stop when the project schedule is completed.  The Project Manager is accountable to keep the schedule on track and remove any obstacles the project team is facing.

Bonuses - Lectures throughout the course have resources that you can download and leverage in your own professional setting as a Project Manager.  Also, there are "Additional Resource" lectures with links to articles and videos.

    How long will it take?

With 60 lectures and over 6 hours of content, if you budget just 30 minutes a day, you can complete this course in approximately 3 weeks.
