    Description

Do you spend a lot of time within Excel but think that you could be using the software more effectively? If yes, then this course is for you!

In only an hour and a half I will introduce you to the most useful and empowering tools within the software which will change how you use Excel on a day to day basis. By the end of the session you'll be getting better results more quickly by using Excel's built-in functionality to do the hard-work for you, meaning you'll be an expert at writing fewer formulas and doing fewer tasks manually.

You'll be operating without your mouse in a workbook which is clearly structured and professionally formatted, impressing your colleagues and boss in the process.

This crash course is aimed at people who want to upskill in Excel quickly - it's focused, impactful and targeted to benefit competent beginners or intermediate users. I won't ask you to do homework or additional tasks. The features and tools you'll learn about in this course will be directly applicable to your daily work so you can practice them in your day job. We're all busy and this course is here to help you; not to add more work.

I have built this course using my experience as boutique consultant and data & analytics instructor to some of the world's biggest names across a variety of industries (such as Wal-Mart, FIFA, the NHS, Adidas). I have worked across a variety of business functions (from finance and accounts to operations to business intelligence) and this experience has allowed me to curate a list of the top features you need to know to make yourself an Excel power user - no matter what your role and business function are.

As a result of this course you will be able to:

    • Get more done in Excel in less time

    • Get Excel to do the hard work on tasks so you don't have to

    • Avoid the most common causes a lot of frustration with data entry, cleaning and processing

    • Understand when and how to deploy some of Excel's most useful features to make working in the tool easier

    • Create spreadsheets which are formatted professionally and are easy to follow in a few simple steps

    • Impress your colleagues by navigating without a mouse and using advanced Excel features

    This course will not cover:

    • Functions - these are covered well in other introductory courses. Personally, I have found the best way to learn and pick up functions is by using Google to find answers for what I'm trying to do. Instead, this course will show you how you can do many standard types of analysis without having to write a formula!

    • Charts & Graphs - knowing how to make a chart in Excel is often not the biggest problem. There are good guides on Google for how to make different types of chart. The real value in charting is knowing what is the right chart to us and when, how to format it to make it impactful and how to build a story or structure to make it easy to understand and for someone to take an action as a result. That is another course in itself.

    • Macros - they are brilliant at automating dashboards and completing repetitive tasks, however, in my experience, they take up a disproportionate amount of time in courses compared to how many people actually use them on a day-to-day basic. This course is designed to be curated and impactful so macros aren't covered.

By enrolling on this course you will find features which you may not have been able to find easily otherwise. Often when you're working in Excel you can use Google to find the answers of how to use a certain formula or build a certain chart. This course shows you tools which only the minority of Excel users know about and fewer still use effectively. It solves the problem of "you don't know what you don't know" by building your awareness of Excel's capabilities and showcases tools you'll wonder you ever lived without.

This course assumes a working knowledge of Excel, if you are a beginner to the software, then this course isn't for you (well, not just quite yet anyway!)

If you're ready, then let's begin...

    Who this course is for:

    • People who use Excel on a day to day basis but feel that they could be getting more out of the software
    • People who have a basic knowledge of Excel and think they will use it more frequently in the near future
    • Busy people who want a condensed, curated course which only teaches them the most important topics that they will use on a day-to-daybasis
