Gary starts with how to set up your MIDI Devices and then gets right to it, showing you how to record your first MIDI track. Quantizing your MIDI parts is then shown, making them tight and groovy, followed by how to utilize the powerful MIDI Editor Window and all of its tools.

The Drum Editor is then revealed and you'll see how to program and use it for other instruments as well. Processing your MIDI tracks is then gone over, including using Realtime & Destructive MIDI effects, like the Arpeggiator, Echo effect, and Velocity & Duration tools.

    Great Job. Really well explained.

Getting some good info here. A lot I knew but the Shortcuts are a real help. 1 discrepancy in the module 4 MIDI editing. Auto transposing a NOTE event by 1/2 steps up or down he gives the shortcut as; Control+Option+Arrow, On my Imac Catalina the keys, are CONTROL+COMMAND+ARROW up or down.

    excellent

Really helped to learn via video tutorials rather than a pdf

I love these tutorials very much. Wonderful service !! 5 stars !!

Great video, however it would be better if more information on hardware synth was given. example setting up patch list for hardware synth's, but as overall good video!

I've been using motu midi since the early 1990's!!! And still, I've learned a great deal from watching this tutorial. This is a comprehensive overview and very little is left out from one of the "oldest" MIDI software programs on the market. To think of my years working with the earlier versions of MOTU's Performer software and now to watch this series of videos clearly shows me MOTU continued to evolve their product and the possibilities of MIDI software, even while digital audio recording was the main focus, replacing audio tape. I'll need to watch this a few more times to soak up all there is to learn and remember... well worth the time and cost.

Starting to use DP again after a long hiatus. This was a great refresher and will be helpful to new users and returning users alike!
