Learn how to create posters in Photoshop! Not only that, but you can use many of these skills and techniques for all kinds of projects that go way beyond just posters. You can apply the skills, tools, and techniques to just about anything; from business cards, letterhead, postcards, and even web and social media graphics.

After going through this course, you will be confident using Adobe Photoshop, and you will also have some really cool projects to show off in your portfolio. I provide premium assets and exercise files to follow along and do exactly what I do in the lessons, or, you can use your own photos to create something truly unique and custom!

My name is Derrick Mitchell, and I have over 20 years of experience using Photoshop as a graphic designer. I will show you my exact workflow that has helped me make a full-time career as a graphic designer using Adobe Photoshop as my main tool.

Hello! My name is Derrick, and I’m so stoked to be teaching here on Skillshare!

I have spent my entire career in the creative arts and marketing sector. I had the opportunity to work with brands such as MTV, Nintendo, and Netflix while employed as an intern for Seven 2 Interactive, which definitely set the trajectory for my design career. In 2008, I and my wife opened a small graphic design and marketing agency in Montana - we spent the next decade creating websites, logos, and more for clients all over the world.

I have been the creative director for major international brands and recently made a career pivot to include online teaching. I LOVE helping students realize their full potential while turning their interests and passions into strong skillsets and careers. From hand-illustrating logos to creating websites for global brands, I know what it takes to succeed as a graphic designer, a freelancer, and a business owner, and am so excited to teach others about the same things!

I live in Montana with my wife, my four daughters, my son, and our family's two dogs. When I find a free moment, I enjoy paddleboarding, mountain biking, snowboarding, and making GoPro videos with my kids.

I absolutely love getting to share design and life with my students. Hopefully I’ll see you in one of my classes soon!
