  • Description

Virtual instrument pro Eli Krantzberg presents a comprehensive series of CREMONA QUARTET video tutorials! If you want to add some incredibly authentic solo or small-ensemble strings to your productions, CREMONA QUARTET is one of the best libraries out there, and this course will teach you all you need to know to create some truly impressive-sounding tracks. Eli covers the basics and then gets very detailed, describing all the advanced features so you'll know you way around with your eyes closed. These videos are for new CREMONA QUARTET users.

Eli welcomes you and starts with a bit of background information on the technology used to create this library before going over the main components of the interface so you can get your bearings. After that, you'll start learning about key switches (how to assign them, use them, etc.), articulations (Marcato, Sustain, Detaché, etc.), and dynamics (using the mod wheel and other MIDI control parameters) and the ways they can transform your performances.

Next, explore the Virtuoso adaptive mode, which allows the triggering of different legato transitions via velocity split points, different staccato transitions via pitch bend, and more. Then discover the various parameters you can tweak to design the perfect vibrato - absolutely crucial in achieving authenticity on stringed instruments.

Throughout the rest of the course, you'll learn all about more advanced features like fingering positions (for tonal variety), the mixer and multi-mic setups (blending close, mid, and far mics), and more. To close out the course, Eli presents several tips and ideas on harmony, ostinatos, and more designed to get your creative juices flowing and break through that blank page barrier!

So far it's been really helpful. Coming from a 'more traditional college music ' background this helps bridge technology with 'old school' which helps me. I still write music/arrangements and orchestration with a pencil to start and then apply the computer! I've only got half way through, but the sounds are fantastic and the one thing that's always held me up has been "how to apply articulations on screen. I'd still like a video dedicated to showing an actual demonstration of applying articulations for beginners. You need someone sitting next to you showing you how to do it in real time. Then I can use that on Brass as well. Having said that, I'm sure with repeated viewings I'll get more out of it, but I am glad I've bought it as I write a lot for strings in all situations. And the price was the best part! Thank you.
