    Description
    • What could you achieve if your whole team was motivated by a shared sense of purpose?

    • If everyone was pulling together toward the same goal? And focused on the right things — the things that will help you achieve your vision?

    • How would it feel to create — and be part of — a values-driven organisation?

    • Where everyone has a shared understanding of “who we are and how we work”?

    • A workplace that people are excited and inspired to turn up to each day?

This comprehensive course will help you create that workplace.

In it, you’ll learn a step-by-step process to uncover, articulate and communicate any team’s vision.

And by the end of it, you’ll have all the tools and techniques to create your own team’s vision.

What is a vision and why have one?

Having a clear vision is crucial if you want to succeed as an organisation.

A team vision acts like a decision-making tool at every level of the organisation. It gives managers and individual team members absolute clarity on what they need to do each day to contribute to the team’s success.

A clearly articulated vision can motivate your people to give their best each day, by helping them picture inspiring long-term goals and showing them what they need to do to achieve those goals.

When your people are clear on the team’s shared vision, you can be confident everyone is always focused on the tasks and goals that matter — even when you’re not there.

A unique framework for communicating your Vision: Purpose, Strategy and Values

In this course, you’ll be introduced to a powerful framework for distilling onto a single page a compelling vision for any team, large or small, for-profit or not-for-profit. You’ll also learn how to communicate it effectively, so people are living your vision day-to-day.

Our framework is made up of three elements: Purpose, Strategy and Values. Combined, they will keep your people on track and inspired to give their best every single day by providing the answers to questions like:

    • Why are we here?

    • Who do we serve?

    • What should we, as a team, be focusing on today, this week, this month?

    • And how are these daily priorities contributing to the organisation’s larger goals?

    • What makes our culture special?

Here’s a little more about each of the three elements of our “Vision on a Page”.

    Purpose

Your purpose (or “mission”) is all about why your organisation exists.

It’s about the impact you, as a team, company, or organisation have on the world — how you contribute to making it a better place.

Articulating this aspect of your vision will help your people stay inspired and focused on the reason they come to work each day: to be there for those you serve, such as your clients and customers.

    Strategy

This is what we call the ‘what’ of your organisation — what it is you’re aiming to achieve.

Your strategy is all about your goals — what you want to achieve as an organisation and your roadmap for getting there. So this aspect of your vision will help you establish and communicate your strategic priorities — the things you need people to focus on if you’re to fulfil your purpose and to realise your overall vision.

    Values

Finally, your organisation’s values are your 'how'. They’re the shared principles that govern how you’ll fulfil your purpose, deliver on your strategy and achieve your vision.

These values are the principles that will guide your employees in their day-to-day work so they can translate your vision and purpose into everyday action.

They’re the link between what you want to achieve and the employee behaviours that will help you achieve it.

A daily reminder to help your team focus on what matters

By the end of the course, you’ll have everything you need to capture your organisation’s vision in this three-part framework (or, if you’re a consultant or copywriter helping a team, everything you need to capture their vision).

During the course, we'll take you step-by-step through the process of capturing this vision on a single page — acting as a daily reminder to everyone about what you need to do to succeed.

A complete step-by-step process to communicate your vision from scratch

The course is divided into three chronological sections: uncovering your vision, articulating your vision and communicating your vision.

    Part 1: Uncovering your vision

The first section is all about uncovering your vision. This section starts by helping you decide who has input into what your team’s vision is.

We’ll help you weigh up the pros and cons of including more or fewer people in that decision making process.

And once you’ve decided who to consult, we'll show you the most effective strategies for getting people to share their ideas about what your organisation’s purpose, strategy and true values are.

    Part 2: Articulating your vision

The second section of the course is dedicated to articulating your vision. This part is about the actual words you’ll use to express your vision, and how you can craft beautiful statements that are clear, memorable and capture exactly what your organisation is all about and where it’s going.

In this section, we dig into what ‘good’ looks like when it comes to a purpose statement, a strategy summary and a set of values — and how to make sure the words you use to express your vision capture what you want to say in a way that resonates with your team.

    Part 3: Communicating your vision

Finally, we move onto communicating your vision. This section is about how to take your vision out there into the world — what to do with your purpose, strategy and values statements once you’ve crafted the actual words.

This final part of the course is all about embedding your vision into all levels of your organisation, so that people are living and breathing it every day.

Why should you choose this course over others?

This course isn’t simply the most comprehensive vision course on Udemy. It’s also the most practical.

That’s because we don’t just talk about theory.

When you enrol in the course, you get a heap of practical strategies, examples, guides and templates you can use at every stage to apply the theory to your own organisation.

These include the following downloadable resources for uncovering, articulating and communicating your vision:

    • Our “Vision on a Page” template for you to capture, distill and present your vision

    • A series of worksheets with prompt questions for uncovering and presenting your purpose, strategy and values

    • A complete toolkit for planning the communication of your vision - from your launch-day agenda to keeping the conversation going long after launch

    • A detailed case study to help you understand what a real-life vision project looks like

A unique case study for you to work through a realistic vision project

A detailed course case study gives you the opportunity to work through a realistic vision project, with opportunities to apply what you’ve learned at every stage of the process.

You can use this case study in one of two ways:

    1. Consult the case study and our model answers to see how we’d approach a vision project, before you do your own.

    2. Get hands-on practice of creating a vision from scratch by responding to the challenges and comparing your own response against our model answers.

However you use the case study, the course will prompt you to roll up your sleeves and apply what you’re learning, either to your own project or our case study project.

As a resilt, you’ll feel confident about creating and communicating your own vision on a page.
