  • Description

This course is the result of the years that I was working as a club photographer. I had started from never using a flash or photographing a club, to shooting multiple clubs a week, and in that time I learnt a lot of the things I share with you in this course. It covers the fundamentals of club photography, including using a flash, shooting fire dancers, creating the classic light trail club look, photographing groups, mindsets towards learning, creating an album, and more. There are basic to advanced techniques that can later be applied to most styles of photography.

The first time I used a flash was in a nightclub. At first I was nervous to use one, but using it completely transformed my photography. I hope that if you feel similar as I did about using flash for the first time, this course can give you a friendly nudge towards starting to use your own light.

If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer. Many of the topics discussed are a whole world on their own, and if theres any extra information you're interested in, I'll be happy to help you get what you're looking for.  This includes but is not limited to: Specific gear, techniques, questions on lighting, or finding the reason behind a problem you may be having. I'll be happy to help.

    Instructor's Courses

Hi there, I'm Brendan. While getting a jazz drum degree in Toronto Canada, I started to take photos of the musicians and artists I was surrounded with. I learnt that concepts can be moved across categories, and that the lessons, mindsets, and approaches I was learning from music applied to photography just as well. I think that understanding yourself is one of the most important things you can do as an artist, and that once a concept is clear to you, it can act like a far off goal post that directs you through the murky landscape of using a tool to express yourself (speaking another language). I now live in Dublin Ireland, and will stay there for the foreseeable future.
