Statamic is a flat-file, Laravel- and Git-powered content management system (CMS) designed for building beautiful, easy-to-manage websites. If you have experience with a CMS like WordPress and you know a little PHP, you may want to shift your approach in how you think about website design. In this course, instructor Zuzana Kuckova walks you through the process of creating a fully functioning Statamic website. Explore the entire range of the web design process, from customization strategies to tips for building a website without a starter kit. Zuzana shows you the technical skills you need to know to boost your career and level up as a back-end web developer. Along the way, test out your new skills in the practice challenges at the end of each section.

I am a full stack web developer with a university degree in Psychology. With my education and past work experience, I am very passionate about web products being accessible to people with all kinds of disabilities, whether psychological or physical, permanent or situational. I am also very interested in addressing gender inequality within the technology industry - I created Larabelles, an online community for Laravel developers to address and improve women issues within the Laravel community. More info: In October 2017 I was awarded a scholarship by Google to participate in Udacity's Mobile Web Specialist nanodegree. In July 2018 I graduated from Udacity's Mobile Web Specialist nanodegree. I now have the skills to build apps that are responsive, accessible, progressive and offline ready. In August 2018 I wrote an article about my journey from being a psychology graduate to an accessibility advocate for the Net magazine. I occasionally publish tech articles on Medium and have recently started giving public talks on the topics of web, WordPress and accessibility: In March 2018 I gave a presentation about Web Accessibility. In July 2018 I gave a presentation about creating a local development environment and developing child themes in Wordpress. In October 2018 I gave a presentation about the importance of subtitles/closed captions on the web. in March 2019 I gave a talk about 'Psychology out of the box - becoming a web developer' to undergraduate students at London City University. In July 2020 I created an online community for women Laravel developers called Larabelles. Larabelles focus on reducing barriers for women to enter the world of technology. We do this by encouraging more girls and women to consider a career in tech and by providing a safe space to feel welcome and supported, not just at the beginning of their development career, but throughout. In December 2020, Larabelles was registered as a Community Interest Company.
