Wilpen L. Gorr

Wilpen L. Gorr is professor at Carnegie Mellon University’s H. John Heinz III College where he is also chairman of the Master of Science in Public Policy and Management program. He teaches database and geographic information systems (GIS) courses as well as project classes that often include GIS. His research combines spatial and time series modeling applied to crime prevention and law enforcement, an area in which he has had over $2 million in research grants. Among his honors is that he won the 2011 Teaching Award of the Heinz College.
