David Whiting

David Whiting has a Ph.D. in Statistics from Texas A&M University with a background in computational statistics and big data analytics. He spent 16 years in academia at Brigham Young University where his research and consulting involved problems with complex computations and large data size: DNA analysis, chemometrics, financial fraud detection, etc.David has spent the past decade+ leading transformation efforts in industry: turning analysts into data scientists, transitioning companies to open source, building cross-functional teams, creating innovative products, and in general deploying machine learning models to solve real world problems.As a customer of H2O, David was an early adopter and became a promoter of the software. He is currently the Head of Global Training at H2O.ai.
