    Description

Provides a study of human physiology for students entering health-oriented fields. Emphasizes the study of the function of cells, the nervous, muscular, circulatory, respiratory, urinary, digestive and endocrine systems, and their homeostatic mechanisms and system interaction. This course takes the original anatomy and physiology sequence and expands upon it by taking an in-depth look at the human body and the systems that comprise it. People who are taking this course will find expanded information on clinical situations as well, outlining many pathological conditions and how the world of disease alters the normal function of our bodies. After finishing this course, students should be able to feel more comfortable with the human body and have gained knowledge that will be invaluable to them in their professional careers or personal lives alike. The following topics will be covered in-depth in the lecture sequence accompanying the course platform.

    Lecture Content:

    Cell membrane transport

Muscle physiology: skeletal, smooth, and cardiac

Cardiac physiology including cardiac conduction and EKG

Circulation physics of pressure, flow, and resistance

Renal physiology with discussion of acid/base balance, fluid, and blood pressure regulation

    Respiratory physiology: ventilation and respiration

    Discussion of clinical conditions

Regulatory mechanisms of the nervous and endocrine system

    Digestive physiology

    Who this course is for:

    • Individuals looking to expand their knowledge of the human body.

    Instructor's Courses
I am currently a professor in the health science department for three different institutions, teaching A&P, Biology, and Microbiology. I have two master's degrees in physiology and am finishing my doctorate in kinesiology. I have been instructing A&P for three years now and want to bring the course materials to anyone who wishes to learn!
Students take courses primarily to improve job-related skills. Some courses generate credit toward technical certification. Udemy has made a special effort to attract corporate trainers seeking to create coursework for employees of their company.
