  • Description

Are you looking to extend the functionality of Adobe Captivate beyond its built-in components and tools? You can use JavaScript to create customized elearning experiences, even if you’re not a professional programmer. In this course, instructor Anastasia McCune dives into the skills you need to know to use JavaScript with Adobe Captivate to extend the functionality of your elearning presentations. Find out when and how to add JavaScript directly within the program, as well as via an external code editor, to open the door to a new level of customization not offered by Captivate itself. Along the way, Anastasia demonstrates some common ways of using JavaScript, including manipulating the player navigation buttons, creating a drag-and-drop interaction with a random element, and more.

    Instructor's Courses
I began in front-end web development and animation, working in Adobe Animate (then known as Flash). Later, teaching face-to-face classes as an Adobe Certified Instructor sparked a passion for teaching, instructional design and instructional development. I taught Flash (now Animate CC) and Captivate for a decade, concurrently working as an instructional designer/developer. I've authored 14 courses for LinkedIn Learning on Captivate, Adobe Animate, instructional design and other topics, with more to come. I currently work as an instructional designer/developer within an Agile environment, and occasionally speak and lead online workshops. I love teaching, learning, and learning from teaching! I believe attention to detail, collaboration, laughter, hard work, and optimism are keys to success! Within instructional design I am particularly interested in interactive storytelling, visual design, application of VR, clear communication and creativity.
